This Privacy Policy applies to the ScamTalk AI mobile application published by Primonix Systems.
1. Information We Collect
ScamTalk AI is designed with privacy as a core principle. We collect minimal data necessary to operate the app:
- Device settings: Country and voice language preferences you choose in Settings. Stored locally on your device only.
- App usage settings: Your preferences such as Dark Mode, Auto Read, Simple Language Mode. Stored locally on your device only.
- Chat messages: Messages you send to the AI are transmitted to our AI provider (Anthropic) for processing and are not retained after your session.
- Chat history: Saved locally on your device if you choose to save a conversation. We cannot access this.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
- Your name, email, or contact details
- Your location or GPS data
- Your contacts or phone book
- Photos, files, or media
- Advertising identifiers
- Biometric data
- Financial or payment information
3. App Permissions Explained
ScamTalk AI requests the following device permissions:
- Microphone: Used only when you activate voice input. Never recorded in the background.
- Notifications: Used to send scam alerts relevant to your selected country. You can disable these in Settings.
- Query Installed Packages: Used only by the App Scanner feature to check your installed apps against known threat indicators. Your app list is never transmitted to our servers.
- Internet: Required to connect to AI services for scam analysis and to load the latest scam news.
4. Third-Party Services
ScamTalk AI uses the following third-party services:
- Anthropic Claude API: Processes your chat messages to generate AI responses. Messages are not retained after processing. See Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): Used to deliver push notifications about scam alerts. Google's privacy policy applies.
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook SDK, or any advertising SDKs.
5. Data Storage and Security
All user preferences and saved chat history are stored locally on your device using Android's SharedPreferences and local storage. We do not operate a user database or cloud storage for personal data.
We implement appropriate technical measures to protect any data in transit, including HTTPS encryption for all API communications.
6. Children's Privacy
ScamTalk AI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our app, please contact us and we will take steps to delete that information.
7. Data Retention
Since we do not collect personal data on our servers, there is no user data for us to retain or delete. Locally stored data (preferences, saved chats) can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing app data in your device settings.
8. Your Rights
Under Australian Privacy Law and applicable data protection regulations, you have the right to:
- Know what data is collected about you
- Request deletion of your data
- Opt out of notifications at any time
- Contact us with any privacy concerns
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
